Budget Beauty – Homemade Eye Make-Up Remover

Budget Beauty – Homemade Eye Make-Up Remover

My favorite eye make-up remover was by Mary Kay.  It’s not oily, doesn’t sting when it gets in your eyes and comes off easily.  At some point my financial situation changed, and in an effort to save some money, I started using Neutrogena’s eye make-up remover.  It is very similar to the Mary Kay product that I loved.

Last year, I came across a recipe while searching on Pinterest and have been using it ever since.  It’s very easy and saves so much money.

Combine in a measuring cup: 1 cup of water, 1 1/2 Tbsp baby shampoo ( I use the conditioning one because that’s what I have for my daughter) and an 1/8 tsp of olive oil.  Pour into a bottle and apply with a cotton ball.  Shake before using.

It takes a little more of the product than the other brands to remove dark mascara, but it’s very gentle on my eyes (and my wallet).  Remember not to pull or scrub the delicate skin around your eyes.

  1. I refuse to pay for eye make up remover ever again! This stuff is as good as any that you can buy and I already have all of the ingredients on hand. Thanks for the recipe, Sis!

  2. This so awesome! Thanks Julie!
