Everyone in the family has come down with a cold, except Camden who is going through some tough teething. The kids had fevers the other day, and now John and I are sick. So instead of the posts I had originally planned to share on homemade cleaning and beauty supplies to keep the budget down, I decided show you what I bought at Marshall’s the other day (pre-sickness invasion).
I went in to return or exchange a pair of shoes I had bought Arabella that didn’t fit her well. After I picked out a cute pair and exchanged them, I looked out to pouring rain. I was alone (without kiddos!), so I decided to walk around and browse the home section. The last time I got to do this, I was in pre-labor with Camden. That was 9 months ago. Here’s what I found.
I have loved peacocks since I was a little girl. It was one of my first words. When I didn’t know what to say, I said “peacock.” So in a way, I love that peacocks are in because you can find all kinds of things with peacock motifs. On the other hand, I hate that it’s everywhere and that people think you are just being trendy instead of it being a long time love affair with peacocks. Now you know my crazy, so I’ll get on with it.
The peacock print was only $16.99. I grabbed it up like there were 20 other people there looking for the same print. It’s everything I love. Peacocks, french motif, the scrollwork is the color of my wall and I’ve been trying to add aqua to our bedroom. The aqua quilt was a purchase I made last spring in an attempt to bring some different color to my red, white and grayish-taupe walls. I found the sheets for $39 and the candle was $6.
I am trying to decide if I want to redo my wall with the picture when we may be moving in 2 months. I think I will anyway just so I can photograph it before we move. I may not be able to paint my walls in our next rental. I hope to have pictures soon of the finished project.
