Cleaning Smelly Booster Seat Straps

Cleaning Smelly Booster Seat Straps

We are all a little under the weather with runny noses and such.  This morning, little man had a throw up incident as John was about to feed him breakfast.  He is fine now, but oh the smell that was coming from his chair!  You know, those little straps that soak up everything that has been on the menu?  I was trying to to figure out a way to clean them anyway when this little incident helped me remember my mom telling me baking soda and water takes the pukey smell away.

I used about 1-2 Tbsp to 2 cups of water.  Let it soak for 20 minutes.  When I took them out to rinse, they were mostly clean.  I scrubbed a few spots with my fingernails, and they were amazingly clean!

Most importantly, the smell is gone!  I’ve also used this mixture on my daughter’s carseat when she was a baby.  Sueded fabric and all.  It works and it barely costs any money.  Double win!

Hon…you might save your nails– and use an old toothbrush or washcloth : )
