It’s hard to believe my little boy turned one yesterday. Oh, how time flies! He celebrated by walking all over the living room. He really gets excited like he can’t believe he’s doing it.
We threw a party for him on Sunday with a country fair theme. I didn’t go all out like some of the amazing parties I found on Pinterest, but I was definitely inspired. If you want to see my inspiration for this theme, you can look at my Pinterest board Country Fair Theme Party. I wanted to keep it somewhat simple and cost effective. Overall, we didn’t spend much money to put together a fun and festive party.
Cheese & Red Grapes
Don’t worry, I’ll be sharing a lot of these recipes over the next few weeks. They were very simple and time efficient to make.
I made pennants from printed out scrap book paper patterns from Pixel Stix Graphics. The paper is actually from a Christmas theme, so don’t be surprised if you see some of this stuff reappear at Christmas time. I cut out triangles, punched holes and threaded twine through them.
I found these cute straws on Amazon. Paper straws are all over the place, but I liked these because they have chevron patterns.
They are so fun and summery!
For favors, we made kettle corn and packaged it up in these cute boxes. We use a Whirly Pop that my sister-in-law gave us for Christmas for making popcorn and kettle corn. It’s really fast and easy to use. We love it! Thanks, Emily.
For fun, I printed out these little mustaches and lips on card stock and attached to the paper straws for photo booth style pictures. It also reminded everyone to take pictures. I usually get so caught up in the fun at parties, I forget to actually document with picture taking.
Here’s one with Camden and his best bud, Elliot. The boys were wondering what their crazy mamas were doing.
This cutie looks adorable in anything she puts on.
Look at these handsome men!
I wanted something that sounded like summertime in the country. I am usually such a chocolate lover, but these truly rivaled anything chocolate I could have made.
Happy Birthday to my sweet boy!
