This week has been a little crazy because Camden is cutting his canine teeth and has been pretty miserable. I am so ready for him to be done as well, so we can all sleep through the night again. My children thrive on sleep, so when they don’t get it they are a little cranky. I was living on lots of my Homemade Iced Mochas in the afternoon. We are making it! Here’s a picture of me holding him after a very short-lived nap. I am enjoying all the snuggles though, knowing that his approaching two years will make those less.
Meals for the Week
Leftover Creamy Southwest Enchiladas and Quesadillas for the kids
???? – I really can’t remember what we had.
Wednesday - I made pizza dough with my new bread machine and it was so good. Big hit with the kids too!

White Pizza with spinach, ricotta and bacon
Smoked Pork BBQ Nachos
Waffles & Scrambled Eggs (for kiddos)
Date Night for Mom & Dad
We are continuing to learn about flowers and gardening. I found this Seed Journal on Spell Out Loud. She traced words to learn about how seeds grow into plants and glued some of the seeds we planted inside the book. We are going to take pictures of the plants as they grow and glue them inside.
This is the first time she has written her name by herself. I was so proud of her!
This is a fun math game that I thought would be hard to convince her to try, but she absolutely loved it. We put the petals on the flower and made a math problem out of it. You can do addition and subtraction. You can download the whole Flower Unit from 2 Teaching Mommies.
We’ve been doing a lot of puzzles lately. This was a fun princess one that her friends Bryleigh and Shiloh gave her for her birthday.
Did I mention this girl loves Disney princesses?
We love shopping at Trader Joe’s as a family. Arabella likes to find Billy the Bulldog who is hidden somewhere in the store. She didn’t know he was behind her in this picture until I showed her on my phone. This is a card I printed and laminated from Preschool Printables to use at the grocery store like a scavenger hunt to find the vegetables on it. She used a dry erase marker to circle the ones she found.
Camden loves to help with the groceries too.
Making pizza was loads of fun! Arabella helped with the dough and putting all the toppings on. She is more experienced than I am because she usually helps John make them. This was my first time making pizza without John doing the dough first. We had a Crooners station from iTunes going with songs from Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra, to name just a few. “When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s amoré.” How can you not throw the dough up in the air to that?
Here’s some quiet time reading. Her daddy is very proud that she likes comic books with Marvel superheroes and Star Wars stuff too.
For a final brag, I have been submitting my recipe pictures to Food Gawker for a few months, and finally got my first one accepted. I was so excited!
After this, I submitted a few more that got accepted.
My photography has definitely grown over the past year. Most of what I have learned is from Pinch of Yum‘s ebook Tasty Food Photography. It’s so easy to read and is full of pictures to show what is being explained. It also will help you use photo editing software to give your images a little boost. I totally recommend it to anyone wanting to learn basics of food photography or improve their food styling techniques.
Hope this inspires you to keep pursuing your dream!
