Homemade Croutons

Homemade Croutons

I love making things with leftover food instead of throwing it away or wasting away in the fridge or pantry.  This helps me save money for our family and gives me a little challenge to create new things.  I had some leftover bread I made in my bread machine that needed to be used up or it would go bad, so I decided to make croutons.

I cubed up about 3 cups of bread in small cubes.

Then I added 1/4 tsp of dried thyme, 1/4 tsp of dried oregano, 1/2 tsp of dried parsley and a pinch of salt and garlic powder.  Then I stirred in 3-4 Tbsp of olive oil until the bread cubes were mixed thoroughly with the dry ingredients.

Spread out the bread cubes on a foil covered baking sheet and bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Let cool and place in an airtight container.
